As an advocate of the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (DPA), protecting data subjects’ privacy is of paramount importance to TransUnion. As much as we respect an individual’s right to data privacy, we also aim to ensure the safety and security of everyone inside the office premises and so we advise you to take the time to read this Privacy Notice, explaining how we process the information we collect from you once you enter the office premises of TransUnion.
WHAT WE COLLECT
When you visit our office or participate in any events or activities organized by TransUnion, you may be required to scan a QR Code. In this QR Code, we may collect your personal data, such as but not limited to, your name, contact details, address, etc. You may also be required to show government issued identification card or other valid IDs to verify your identity. Also, our office premises are being monitored by a CCTV system and we’ll be recording your ingress and egress.
WHY WE COLLECT THEM
While we collect the data primarily as a security measure, we may also collect the same for any other legitimate purposes. Generally, we do not share this data with any person outside the organization but may do so when permitted by law, or when it is needed to protect our interests. In this case, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that security measures are in place and that the DPA, its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) and otherissuances of the National Privacy Commission (NPC) are complied with.
HOW WE USE, STORE, AND RETAIN THEM
By providing us with or making available to us your personal data, visiting our office, utilizing our services, or participating in our events and activities, you agree and consent to our collecting, using, disclosing, sharing and otherwise processing that data for the purposes specified here. This consent supplements and does not supersede or replace any other consent you have also provided to us in respect of your personal data, or the existence of a lawful basis for that data's collection and processing. If you provide us with personal data of other individuals, by doing so, you also represent and warrant to us that you have the right and authority to provide that data and that you had informed the relevant individuals of, and that they consent to, the terms of this Privacy Notice. As a multi-national corporation, personal data so shared to TUPH may be processed, transferred to, used and stored on servers that may be located outside of the Philippines. TUPH adheres to the local privacy regulations and retains personal information for as long as necessary for the fulfillment of the stated purposes herein. After which physical records shall be disposed of through shredding, while digital files shall undergo purge protocols.
HOW YOU MAY EXERCISE YOUR RIGHTS
Here at TUPH, we uphold and respect your data privacy rights. The DPA specifies the rights of a data subject, and these are: the right to be informed regarding certain matters; the right to object to the processing of data; the right to reasonable access to certain information; the right to rectification of inaccuracy or error in your data; the right to block or remove data under certain circumstances; the right to damages in case you suffer an injury due to inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, false, unlawfully obtained or unauthorized use of data; transmissibility of your rights as a data subject; the right to data portability; the right to lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission, if circumstances permit this. If you do not wish to provide your personal data pursuant to our requests or under conditions specified herein, we may not be able to permit your entry in our office premises or participation in our events and/or activities.
