TransUnion Philippines is participating in a series of roadshows across the country as part of the Credit Information Corporation (CIC) campaign on the importance and benefits of having a credit information system.
We started working on this campaign last year with the aim to raise awareness of what we do and how this benefits clients and consumers from all financial institutions.
Over 1,200 attendees have participated in the six credit infrastructure roadshows held to date, with a further four roadshows scheduled for the year.
There has been diverse representation at these events, with attendees from corporate enterprises, banks, entrepreneurs, local government and consumers.
Attendees are trained on the salient and technical features of Republic Act No. 9510, known as the Credit Information System Act (CISA). In addition, special accessing entities – including TransUnion – are given the opportunity to showcase their business plans.
We explain our capabilities and solutions and, more importantly, focus on our role as a comprehensive credit bureau with services that can help to advance financial inclusion. Our goal is to use the data these entities will be sharing with CIC so we can help people gain access to credit, which in turn will assist in growing the Philippine economy.
The CIC Roadshow is a public–private partnership run in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) – World Bank, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Philippine Cooperative Centre (PCC), Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) and other special accessing entities (SAEs), including TransUnion.
